Dynamic Willpower

To create dynamic will power, determine to do some of the things in life that you thought you could not do. Attempt simple tasks first. As your confidence strengthens and your will becomes more dynamic, you can aim for more difficult accomplishments.    —J. Donald Walters

Include Everyone

We all want to belong — It's more fun to include everyone.
Artist: Renee Dumont
Poster size:  24"x18"

Everyone has deep experiences both happy and painful about being part of or outside of a group.
When you put this poster up with your child, maybe share the happiness you felt when being part of a group in your past. Tell your child you hope they will include others in their play or activities so they can feel the same happiness you felt.
Including others is a basic skill for any team building or leadership.

About

WisdomScenes is a start-up, non-profit venture to create and share inspirational paintings and posters for children.

The basic idea:
There are many great sayings that inspire, uplift, and guide people.  These come from great moral and spiritual leaders from all cultures and historical periods. Hearing these sayings can inspire people to take more positive action in life. WisdomScenes will commission artists to paint an action scene that exemplifies a great saying. These paintings will be available as posters targeted to children for schools and parents. Grants will be sought to provide the financing for commissioning the paintings and offering posters free to public schools.
The words of many great sayings are already used to produce posters. Usually though, a beautiful nature picture is used as a backdrop to the words. Sometimes a beautiful abstract painting is used as a backdrop. Looking at these can be uplifting and may induce a viewer to more positive behavior.
However, instead of using an unrelated background scene, a beautiful, related painting can be used to show a person acting out the saying. This will be more memorable and subconsciously more impactful to the viewer. It can be especially impactful to younger children if the scene is painted showing children like themselves acting out the saying.

The need:
Our children today desperately need more uplifting inspiration in their lives to counteract the downwards effects of much of the mass media that they are exposed to. Having a parent hang an uplifting poster on the child's wall, while a small effort, can help.

The goal:
The goal of WisdomScenes will be to ultimately have hundreds of posters. The posters will be offered singularly or in sets of 52 to parents, so they can hang a different one on the wall every week. These "weekly postings" can become a wonderful discussion point between parent and child. A booklet will accompany each poster set that will suggest discussions to have with the children and also with suggested activities for how the child (and parent) can exemplify the saying over the week. It would could be very powerful for the parent and child to agree on what actions they each will take over the next week relating to the saying.
The posters will include both great moral sayings and great spiritual sayings. It is anticipated that funding will be obtained to distribute posters with just the moral sayings to public schools. While the posters with deep spiritual sayings would be distributed to parents and private schools.
